The Local Public Administration is formed to organize and execute the local power. The Public Administration makes decisions through the Local Council while the Mayor holds executive power.
In the most recent election on June 3, 2007 Alexandru Curmei (Independent) was elected for a second consecutive term as Mayor.
The Council secretary is Alexandru Sili.
Effective June 28, 2007, the Local Council consists of the following members:

- Puşcaş Ion Nicolae, Alianţa Moldova Noastră
- Popa Ion Constantin, consilier independent

- Matei Vasile Alexei, Partidul Comuniştilor din Republica Moldova
- Lupu Gheorghe Alexandru, Partidul Comuniştilor din Republica Moldova

- Ghemu Gheorghe Constanti, consilier independent
- Deleanu Ştefan Constantin, consilier independent
- Curmei Gheorghe Nicoale, consilier independent

Seven members are serving their third term and two their second.
Six members have university degrees while seven have professional studies.
